Before stepping into the wrestling
and Hollywood spotlight, Robert grew up in a small French village in Eastern Canada. Oldest of three boys, it was very apparent
that he was different from the rest of his age group. He was taller than anybody else, even his first grade teacher. He was
a shy because of it but being a dreamer helped him escape. Robert loved to draw. He made up stories inspired by TV series
and Movies he loved at the time, from Battlestar Galactica to Conan. At one time he had a dream of being an artist, but Robert
also had a passion of watching Pro Wrestling at home with his Father. He was fascinated by the characters, from their skills,
strength and a confidence that he wanted so much as a shy boy. When he was about to graduate from High School, he made the
decision that would change his life. He wanted to be a Pro Wrestler and be in the World Wrestling Federation. He started in
a local wrestling promotion, helped by his stature; at 7 feet they made him an attraction as a Giant. He became comfortable
being in front of a crowd every night, he loved to tell stories in the ring as well. Several years later he had his big break
and realized his dream to work for the WWF.
With them he wrestled all over the world, gaining experiences
and making friends. After WWF, persuaded by a local friend who was an actor, Robert tried a little bit of acting. He appeared
in an episode of Lexx and Liocracy with Leslie Nielson. Not long after that Robert got an offer to play a role in the motion
picture film called 300. He was offered the part after a Montreal wrestling promoter gave his contact to the producers of
300 who was looking for a big man to play Uber Immortal. He was hired the day of his audition. Robert got to realize his second
dream of being an actor in a Hollywood film. The film was very successful and his fight scene as Uber against Leonidas played
by Gerard Butler won best fight of the year at the MTV movie awards in 2007. A year later he auditioned and landed the role
of Dredger in Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes. A French henchmen who works for Lord Blackwood, Nemesis of Holmes played
by Robert Downey Jr. He made news while shooting a fight scene with Downey when he accidently punches him in the face. The
film was box office smash considering it went against Avatar. His next role was in a Film Noir called The Big Bang starring
Antonio Banderas and Sam Elliot. He played Anton “The Pro" Protopov, an ex con Russian Boxer, who hires Banderas
Character to find a missing woman. This was his first dramatic role and his character is central to the story. A positive
feedback from the cast and crew made Robert gain confidence in himself that he could do bigger roles and make a career in
film. His next role he will play a Minotaur in the action fantasy film "Immortals”, it will be directed by Tarsem
Singh. He lives with his Wife and 4 Daughters in Eastern Canada.

Antes de entrar en la lucha y a la luz de Hollywood, Robert se crió en un pequeño pueblo francés

Era más alto que nadie, incluso que su maestra de primer grado. Era tímido, pero siendo un soñador pudo
escapar de esa característica. A Robert le encantaba dibujar. Realizó historias inspiradas en series de
televisión y películas, desde Battlestar Galactica hasta Conan. Durante un tiempo quiso ser artista, pero también
era un apasionado de la lucha libre profesional, la cual veía en casa con su padre. Estaba fascinado por los personajes,
su habilidad, su fuerza y la gran confianza que demostraban. Todo lo que quería tener siendo un niño tan tímido.
Cuando estaba a punto de graduarse de la High School, tomó la decisión que cambiaría su vida. Quería
ser luchador profesional y estar en la World Wrestling Federation. Comenzó en la lucha libre local, y gracias a
su estatura, de 2.13 metros, se convirtió en la atracción, siendo visto como un gigante. Se sentía cómodo
frente a la multitud todas las noches, también le gustaba contar historias en el ring. Varios años después
tuvo su gran oportunidad y alcanzó su sueño de trabajar para la WWF.
Con ellos luchó
alrededor de todo el mundo, ganó experiencia e hizo amigos. Después de WWF, persuadido por un amigo local
que era actor, Robert intentó actuar un poco. Apareció en un episodio de Lexx y Liocracy con Leslie Nielsen.
No mucho tiempo después, Robert ya tenía una oferta para interpretar un papel en la película 300.
Se le ofreció la parte de este personaje, cuando un promotor de lucha libre de Montreal, dio sus datos a los
productores de 300 que estaban buscando a un hombre grande para interpretar a Uber Immortal. El mismo día de su audición
fue contratado. Robert logró su segundo sueño, el de ser actor en una película de Hollywood. La película
fue un gran éxito y su escena de pelea, la de Uber contra Leónidas, interpretado por Gerard Butler ganó
el premio de la mejor pelea del año en los MTV Movie Awards en 2007. Un año más tarde hizo una audición
y consiguió el papel de la Draga en Sherlock Holmes de Guy Ritchie. Un secuaz francés que trabaja para Lord
Blackwood, Némesis de Holmes, interpretado por Robert Downey Jr. Fue gran noticia durante la filmación,
que en una escena de lucha contra Downey, accidentalmente lo golpeó en la cara. La película fue un éxito
de taquilla teniendo en cuenta que se proyectó al mismo tiempo que Avatar. Su siguiente papel fue en una película
llamada The Big Bang, protagonizada por Antonio Banderas y Sam Elliot. Su personaje fue Antón "El Pro"
Protopov, un boxeador ruso exconvicto , que contrata al personaje de Banderas para encontrar a una mujer desaparecida.
Este fue su primer papel dramático y su personaje fue fundamental para la historia. La retroalimentación y el
apoyo que los actores y el equipo le brindaron a Robert, le hicieron ganar confianza en sí mismo y asegurar que podía
interpretar grandes papeles y hacer una carrera en el cine. Su siguiente interpretación será la de un
Minotauro en la película de fantasía y acción "Inmortales", dirigida por Tarsem Singh. Actualmente
vive con su esposa y sus cuatro hijas al este de Canadá.
