Maria Olsen came to America in January
2005 and hasn't taken time to breath since she got here. In five short years she has performed in 15 stage
plays (including one Off-Broadway), directed 3 plays, written and directed her own play and first feature film,
shot at least 40 feature films, 70 shorts, 10 web series, 10 music videos and recorded 5 voiceover gigs.
She has also won four awards (including awards for both acting and directing), had two short films appear at the 2009
Cannes Short Film Program, one at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, and became a proud member of the Screen Actors
Guild in March 2009. Best known for her appearances as Mrs. Dodds/The Fury in Fox’s Percy Jackson &
The Olympians: The Lightning Thief – where Chris Columbus directed and Pierce Brosnan and Uma Thurman starred -
and as one of the Paranormal Activity 3 witches, Olsen’s features and shorts have also screened at other international
festivals such as Sundance (Renegades), the Fangoria Weekend of Horrors (Justin Paul Ritter’s A Gothic
Tale), HorrorFest (Patrick Horvath’s Die-ner (Get It?) - where she won Best Supporting Actress for her
role as Rose the Waitress - and the International HBO Latino Film Festival (Sam Benavides’ Mansfield Path).
Features IJE: The Journey, Vile, The Mudman and Blue like the Morning are currently collecting awards on
the festival circuit, while Dragonquest, Sam Hell, Die-ner (Get It?), Alone Together, Darkening Sky, Shellter, Embers
of the Sky and Humanity’s End are now all available on either DVD or VOD. She has also recently
completed shooting on several further features, including Rob Zombie’s The Lords of Salem, Mark Edwin Robinson’s
The Levenger Tapes, Justin Calen Chenn’s Folklore, Carl Lindbergh’s Bunnyman 2,
Claudia Damasceno’s Feed Me and Jose Figueroa’s San Francisco 2177. Future projects include
horror features Brandon Scullion’s Live-in Fear and Mike McLarty’s
Southbound - where she will also produce – Craig Ouellette’s
road-trip horror Straight On Till Morning as well as the gritty crime drama Cockroaches and the intriguing
mockumentary LoveTouchHate. Thanks must go to her husband Kevin for putting up with her and also to her
amazing agents and managers, especially Bonnie Howard and Ileane Rusch, for wanting to represent her and doing it so
well =) CHARITY WORK: She's active in the feral cat rescue community.

María Olsen llegó a Estados Unidos en enero de 2005 y no ha tenido tiempo para respirar desde
que llegó. En cinco cortos años ha actuado en 15 obras de teatro (una de ellas fuera de Broadway), dirigido
3 obras de teatro, ha escrito y dirigido su propia obra de teatro, filmó al menos 25 películas, 52 cortometrajes,
3 series para la web, 5 videos musicales y 5 proyectos de voz en off. Ella también ha ganado cuatro premios (incluyendo
los de actuación y dirección), tiene dos cortometrajes que aparecen en el Programa de Cortometrajes de Cannes
2009, uno en el Sundance Film Festival de 2010, y es un orgulloso miembro del Gremio de Actores de la Pantalla desde Marzo
del 2009 . Sus largometrajes y cortometrajes también se han exhibido en otros festivales internacionales, como
el Fin de Semana del Horror de Fangoria (con un cuento Gótico de Justin Paul Ritter), en el HorrorFest
(Die Patrick Horvath-ner (Get It?) – en donde ganó el premio como la mejor actriz secundaria por su papel de
la camarera Rose - y el Organismo Internacional de HBO Latino Film Festival (Sam Benavides’ Mansfield Path). Actualmente
Features Shellter, IJE: The Journey and Blue like the Morning están recibiendo premios en el circuito de festivales,
en donde Dragonquest, Die-ner (Get It?), Alone Together y Humanity’s End están ahora disponibles en DVD.
Además los proyectos anteriores incluyen un papel de soporte fundamental en el éxito de Fox en el 2010
Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief (dirigido por Chris Columbus y en donde actúan Pierce Brosnan y Uma Thurman),
sale en junio del 2010 en DVD y Blu-Ray. Recientemente también ha filmado otros proyectos, y participa en The Mudmand
de Tim Curley, The Levenger Tapes de Mark Edwin Robinson, Vile de Taylor Sheridan y San Francisco 2177 de José
Figueroa. Futuros proyectos incluyen personajes de terror como en Feed Me y Straight On Till Morning, así como
el thriller psicológico - Les Mahoney’s Dancing with Rip -- donde protagonizará a Elise van Rensburg,
una reportera sudafricana. Gracias a su esposo Kevin que la apoya y a sus increíbles agentes y representantes,
