This Professional Basketball player turned actor went to Dorothy Stringer High School in Brighton. He played basketball for Iona College and Clarion University in the USA before starting his professional career in 1994. He played for England for 9 years and for clubs in England, France, Portugal, Belgium and Greece before retiring from Basketball in 2003.

AVP: Alien vs. Predator was Ian's first film. In the new AVP film you will see many Predator creatures. BUT guess what? THEY ARE ALL IAN! That's right! Via the magic of film making (except for a few scenes where stand-ins were used) every time you see The Predator on screen IT'S IAN! Even in some shots where you see some of them standing side by side, it is STILL Ian (he's just standing in front of a blue screen). Ian said it was fun filming all the different Predator creatures, BUT can you imagine ALL THOSE COSTUME CHANGES!

He can also be seen in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire as Madame Maxime (the Giant) who he portrays inconjunction with the talented actress Frances de la Tour (she plays the Giant close up and Ian plays the Giant for various shots) It's a combined effort. Ian worked closely with Ms.la Tour to get her movements and body language just right! She would often be on set even if she herself was not on camera so that she could guide Ian's in his performance so that together they bring the character to life!
A very forceful woman, Madame Maxime is the headmaster of the Belgian wizarding school Beauxbatons.  She is very large (10-12 ft tall) and similar in stature to Rebeus Hagrid.  She denies being a half-giant.  She speaks with a heavy French accent.

GREAT NEWS FANS!!!! IAN has wrapped filming the highly anticipated AVP 2 again starring as THE PREDATOR! 20th Century Fox has announced will be rated R, and opens in late 2007!
