But her trip to becomes a star is interupted when she arrives in San Fran. where she learns that her Unclue was run over by a street car and she now is the owner of his hotel. Derek Maki portrays MARK, the hotel manager who is NOT thrilled about having a new boss who seems to know NOTHING about runnig a hotel! The laughs keep coming!!!! Derek (as Peter) stops Steve and says "It's OK" in a scene from Derek's new film INSTANT DADS REATARD....In this indi film (directed by one of Derek's clients, Mr. Tom Woodruff Jr.) Derek portrays Gil, a drug dealer who has come to collect some money from one of his pushers. Only thing is, the guy seems to be acting strange and will not give Gil what he's looking for until he revelas that the drugs are hidden up the ass of a dead dog's carcass. Mr. Woodruff's years of working in special effects allowed him to creat a very life like dead dog... being on set was truley an amazing experience says Derek, "When people walked by and saw the dog in teh trunk they gave us such strange looks, it was great, and disgusting". The film will be available in 2006 at festivals. It also stars Lance Henriksen!
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF COOG Every guys wet dream... and it still is. Comic book shop geek COOG stops by his local store to learn that there's a new book featuring the girl of his dreams JULIE STRAIN! This little comedy (written and directed by JASON ELKINS) has his character COOG coming face to face with his dream gal! Look for this short in festivals in 2005. Derek plays the comic book shop owner.	Yup that's Derek with model JULIE STRAIN.... ... and director Jason Elkins is the guy with his arms in the air.
	BACK TO THA HOOD: LEPRECHAUN 6: Lep 6 was a dream come true for Derek. Like any actor in Hollywood or New York they all strive to make it into SAG (The Screen Actor's Guild). SAG is the union that protects all it's actors and gets them their fair share the money that a film makes. It's very difficult to get into SAG, it takes years! Lep 6 was the film that gave Derek his chance to get in! Lep 6 is the latest installment from the popular cult series of Leprechaun films staring Derek's friend WARWICK DAVIS. In this film the Leprechaun character is MUCH darker then in the other films. The director (who is new to Hollywood) put all his heart and soul into this project making it, in Derek's oppinion, "The best Lep film to date... and that is not just because of what it did for my career". And that statement could not be anymore true considering that Derek's part was actually CUT from the film and no one has ever seen it! You can RENT it today at your local video store!
CARNAGE & DECEPTION: A KILLER'S PERFECT MURDER: Derek wrote, directed and starred in this independant film. With his production company getting larger, Derek decided to take on the task of making his own films to boost his career. "I am a big fan of actor Vin Diesel. I had read an interview where Vin told the reporter in how he raised $3,000.00 of his own money and shot an indy film. I figured I could do the same thing". He he did!
